Introduction

Western nations were dramatically changed by urbanization and industrialization. Because of the problems that were created by these developments, people began demanding reforms. People demanded that the conditions for the poor and workers be improved and that ordinary people have a voice in the government.Technological advances were also made. These, along with reforms, spread to Africa and
Asia and other countries.
The industrialization in the United States leaked over to European nations who now had the same ambition. They needed more resources in order to provide for their industrial production. They took to Africa and Asia to get these raw resources.

In these chapters I hope to learn more about technological advances and the conflict in Africa over land for resources.
